India and the EU share ambitious clean energy goals and complementary strengths. Europe brings advanced R&D, robust quality standards, innovation ecosystems, and patient capital. India offers competitive costs, strong domestic demand, a skilled workforce, and a supportive industrial policy. By aligning strategies, both sides can co-develop solutions that strengthen the resilience, scale, and sustainability of solar supply chains.
This event will convene Indian and European stakeholders to explore concrete opportunities for cooperation in solar manufacturing under the EU–India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP). It aims to foster dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and mobilise investment. Participants include stakeholders from companies such as Ecoprogetti, Fraunhofer ISE, IB Solar, ISC Konstanz, Mondragon Assembly, RCT Solutions, ReNew, Stäubli, STS Certified, Swelect, Tata Power, Triveni Renewables, UNEX, and others.
Background of the study:
With Europe being the continent with the oldest fleet of solar generation and India being one of the largest solar PV markets globally, SolarPower Europe and NSEFI will facilitate closer interaction between the EU and Indian companies in the areas of solar manufacturing and support a dialogue for closer cooperation. This activity is expected to result in opportunities for collaboration between EU and Indian companies in the areas of technology partnerships, financing, research and innovation, etc. Further, as the need is realized for interventions from the key stakeholders, the interventions are expected to strengthen supply chain resilience, enables technology exchange, and mobilize investment across both regions..
Session Objectives:
The main focus areas of discussion include:
- Current landscape of solar manufacturing in India and Europe
- Potential for technology partnerships and innovation exchange
- Financing models to support joint initiatives
- How to strengthen supply chain resilience through collaboration
- Lifetime of PV panels, components and manufacturing equipment
- Discussions focused on technology partnerships, financing, research and innovation
- Exploring concrete opportunities for cooperation and joint projects
